$5 Million Lottery Winning F&I Manager To Keep Working, Give Away Car

June 22, 2015 2 Comments

Andy Ciaccio is the finance manager of Summit Motors in Warrenton, Virginia. He just won $5 million playing the lottery. To make things even more interesting, Ciaccio allowed the computer to pick the numbers for him. To make things still more interesting, Ciaccio went to buy his ticket around 10 a.m. and the machine was broken. Feeling impatient, he returned two hours later to buy his eventual winning ticket. He’s certainly grateful for the temporarily out-of-order machine.

What makes Ciaccio’s story special is not that he’s in the retail auto industry and has now won a few million; rather, it’s how he’s handling the situation. Ciaccio isn’t quitting his job as the Summit Motors finance manager. In fact, he didn’t even take a day off when he won. After learning that he won $5 million, Ciaccio headed to County Chevrolet, the parent store to Summit motors to speak to the GM, Jake Moore. One would expect that this story ends with Ciaccio easily leaving his job and retiring early with a few million. However, that’s not at all how it turned out. Ciaccio told Jake Moore the GM of County Chevrolet that he hit the jackpot. Moore recalls saying that he would probably need to find a new finance manager. However, as mentioned earlier that wasn’t the case. “He didn’t even take a day off,” Moore told the Faquier Now. He further noted, “If it were me, I’d at least have taken the day off.”

Ciaccio, clearly loves Summit Motors and he loves his job. He really doesn’t want to change much in his life at all. Ciaccio claimed $3.5 million after taxes and gave $500,000 each to his two sons. He told the local newspaper Faquier Now, “I don’t want to change a thing. I want to pay it forward.” As for splurging, Ciaccio bought a new Red Camaro from County Chevrolet and gave his 2005 Chevy Trailblazer to a family struggling to pay medical bills.
