Bing has launched a powerful new tool to allow marketers to gain a better understanding of the competitive landscape, fine-tune their campaigns and get ideas for effective new keywords. Dealership marketers will find great value in the detailed insights that are available to them through Bing Ads’ new robust tool.

Campaign Planner provides valuable marketplace insights, including search traffic trending and forecasting data, industry benchmarks, competitor performance and keyword suggestions. The tool allows users to select a target audience. A vertical from a drop-down menu allows for insights into that audience using metrics, including search volume, average CPCs and device performance. Users can choose to divide verticals into sub-verticals or even into specific products to gain further insights.

In its announcement, Bing Ads provided examples for “Women Jackets & Coats” to show the interface of its new tool:

The Competition tab displays the top 10 advertisers that are bidding on a product and their performance data. Marketers can view the names of the top competitors, along with their share of ad coverage and their average position during the past week. Dealerships can use this tool to gain insights into the behavior of their competitors, allowing them to fine-tune the approach of their own campaigns. The data can be exported as an Excel file for further analysis at a later time.

The Keywords tab displays the most popular keywords for verticals, as well as impressions, average CPCs, CTRs, and search volume for each keyword. For dealerships that frequently analyze the same products, these can be conveniently saved into a “Favorites” folder so that they will appear at the top of the page in subsequent logins to the Campaign Planner.

The insights that can be gained from Bing Ads’ new Campaign Planner tool are certainly noteworthy for dealerships and other businesses, providing extensive data that can be used to develop and improve marketing campaigns.

Users in the U.S. can now find the Campaign Planner under the Tools menu in Bing Ads. The company says that the feature will be rolling out to other markets soon.
