comScore’s October Search Engine Rankings: Google Down Slightly
A recent analysis of the U.S. desktop search marketplace by leading firm comScore was released for the month, showing that Google site led the explicit core search market for October 2014, with 67 percent of search queries conducted. However, this is a result that is lower than the previous month’s showing of 67.3 percent.
With Google in first place, Bing showed a 0.1 percent increase to a total of 19.5 percent of the market share, and Yahoo rounding out the top three with 10.3 percent, up 0.3 percentage points. Both Bing and Yahoo made slight gains where Google failed to this time around.
Ask Network has a 1.9 percent share, and AOL, Inc. had 1.2 percent.
Important to note is that these results are from desktop computer searches only; that is, they do not reflect Google’s major strength in its mobile search strategy.
