Last week, Twitter updated its “Twitter for Business” website for the first time since April 2013, with a new look and reorganized information for marketing instruction and resources.

Russ Laraway, Head of Small and Medium Business at Twitter, explained the rationale behind the update in a recent blog post. “Since 2007, businesses around the world have used Twitter to generate awareness, connect with customers and drive sales,” wrote Laraway. “As the creative and effective ways you use our platform continue to inspire us, we’ve developed a more comprehensive resource to further enable your business to succeed with Twitter.”

Initial reactions to the update have been positive, with many writing that the organization of the website is now better and that the information is easier to find. The site opens with the basics, providing users with options to seek out information within the following six categories:

  • Create or manage a Twitter presence
  • Grow a follower base
  • Drive website clicks or conversions
  • Increase tweet engagements
  • Drive app installs or engagements
  • Find leads on Twitter

In addition to these primary categories, the website contains other sections, including Solutions, Success Stories and Resources, all of which delve deeper into the various ways that Twitter can be effectively used as a marketing tool, featuring research, videos and examples of businesses that are experiencing success on Twitter.

“Whether your business is just starting to use Twitter or you’re a seasoned pro, you can find educational resources, research, advertising solutions and real-life examples that are relevant for your business needs,” Twitter’s blog post continues.

Certainly, it’s a great advantage for marketers to be able to see examples and photographs of actual businesses who are using Twitter effectively, and the new Twitter for Business site organizes this content into four sections:

  1. Basics
  2. Solutions
  3. Success Stories
  4. Resources

The updated site also features a button at the top of every page that links to Twitter’s self-serve advertising dashboard.

The blog post indicates that these resources will continue to increase, stating that, “Throughout the coming weeks and months, we’ll continue to add new content and features to the website. To stay informed of these updates and learn about other new resources, check in with us here on our blog or follow us at @TwitterSmallBiz.”
