Dealer Fights Child Hunger | DrivingSales News

Ford Dealer Gives Hungry Children Food For The Weekend

December 29, 2015 0 Comments

We told you recently about several examples of dealers doing good and even one example of citizens giving dealers a helping hand. The latest example of a dealer reaching out involves their desire to fight child hunger.

Moses Motor Company, a Ford dealership in York, Nebraska will be providing free meals for around 100 children in their local area. The Ford dealer is raising money for the program by donating $100 on each vehicle sold during the last week of the year. The dealership goal for the program is $2,500, which KSNB reports is a goal the store feels confident they will reach.

The money raised goes to the city of York Pack Program, which gives underprivileged children food to take home for the weekend, when they may have less access to consistent meals. The dealership general manager Dan Classen spoke to KSNB about the effort on the part of his dealership to help those in need. Classen told KSNB, “The smiles are what it’s all about to us. Some of those programs, people know that we sponsor them. Some of them, they don’t. For us, just seeing a happy kid…that’s able to eat on the weekends because they have a Pride Pack that’s full of food for them, that makes all the difference to us.”

Every dealership reaches out in different ways be it a coat drive, food drive or even building houses in Haiti. How has giving back helping strengthen the relationship your store has with the surrounding community? What is your suggestion for dealers who don’t know where to start their outreach program?
