Facebook, Instagram Roll Out Holiday-Targeted Ads
Both social networks, Facebook and Instagram, are adding a new segment in targeted ads this year in a bid to earn a bigger share of retailer’s holiday advertising budgets. Dealerships will have increased opportunities to reach audiences who interact with online content related to holiday shopping, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday, through this segment.
By anonymously aggregating holiday-related keywords that users publish, like or share, Facebook says they aim “to reach the most engaged and scaled audience related to the season.â€Â We were first introduced to this type of event-specific advertising when Facebook added a segment for the Super Bowl earlier this year. The company also offers targeted ads for baseball, cricket and rugby enthusiasts.
Holiday-targeted ads will run from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day and are already available under the “Behaviors†section of Facebook user’s ad-dashboard under the “Seasonal and Events†category.
