Hyundai Dealership Decides To Drop $10,000 From The Sky

A Florida dealership decided to dump $10,000 out of the sky. Hyundai of Wesley Chapel in Wesley Chapel, Florida did just that, dumping currency from a giant crane at their store into a sea of money-loving consumers. On Saturday Sept. 12, the promotional event gave visitors to the Hyundai store the chance to make a wild grab for falling bills. The money dumped by the dealership was play money that they allowed consumers to turn into them for the real thing. Reports indicate some individuals made off with over $300. A post on the Bay News 9 Facebook page on this subject indicates one couple made off with nearly $1,000 combined. Others on social media regretted not knowing about the day of falling cash.

According to the Hyundai of Wesley Chapel GM, this was an advertising idea intended to: give people money. Speaking to Bay news 9 dealership GM John Gauvey explained, “We spend a lot of money on advertising, and one of the things we were talking about is let’s give some money back to people. We thought, let’s do something like put $10,000 in a box and drop it into our parking lot.” A video of the money-giving promotion shows all consumers behaving civilly and respectably grabbing money coupons as they fall from the sky.
