Mulally Moves Out Of Ford, Into Google
Less than a month after his anticipated departure from Ford, Alan Mulally is taking is talents into the digital realm. Google has announced that Mulally is joining their board.
While sitting on the board is not exactly leading the company, Google could consider this changeover a coup in terms of having Mulally on their team. As the CEO of Ford From 2006 to a number of weeks ago, he steered the Detroit-based American auto manufacturer out of a financial low point and onward towards increasing profitability.
Being on the board does have benefits. Mulally will reportedly receive 1 million in Google Stock, an annual “equity award†of $350,000, as well as around $75,000 as a cash retainer and for reimbursement expenses. Clearly, this investment is worth it to Google, who sees what Mulally has done for Boeing and Ford, and wants this powerful manager to join their organization.
