Wrapify is a new startup that has developed a marketing platform that connects drivers with brands to create what it hopes will be powerful and memorable advertisements on vehicles.

It’s certainly an interesting idea, and some people are calling Wrapify “Uber for Advertisers.” There is nothing else like it on the market today, as Wrapify is the first ad platform with an iOS app that creates a financial incentive to consumers by paying them, while providing a new type of marketing service.

“Wrapify’s goal is to change the world of out-of-home advertising for the better, for the consumer,” said James Heller, CEO of Wrapify. “We think Wrapify will help speed marketing’s paradigm shift to the individual, a fair deal where everyday Americans get a piece of the action.”

So, how does it work?

The promise of Wrapify is “Drive. Earn. Live.” The company is utilizing an interesting mix of the latest digital and mobile technologies, with the intention of offering drivers an easy source of extra income, while providing a distinctive advertising method on the road for brands.

Wrapify uses an in-house creative director to develop its vehicle display designs, and the company allows drivers to pick their choice of advertiser and the car’s “look,” while offering brands the security of control and trackable results.

It’s simple to keep track, as Wrapify’s proprietary mobile app is easy to use. Drivers simply have to download the app, and then engage it when they get in their vehicle. The app checks in the driver and tracks their mileage as they go. Advertisers and drivers share access to powerful tracking, analytics and reporting, which chronicle campaigns, push notifications, gather insights, offer scalability, and promote and accept bonus offers.

“Wrapify is the easiest way to make money on the road short of finding it in the street,” writes the company on its website. “A disruptive, crowdsourced advertising platform connecting drivers and brands to create powerful on-vehicle advertising, Wrapify’s quality controlled platform is a mutually beneficial, symbiotic relationship between empowered car owners and leading edge marketers.”

Currently, Wrapify’s cars are on the road in San Diego and San Francisco, and the company will launch this summer in Los Angeles, Orange County and Atlanta. More than 1,500 drivers have already signed up, and the platform features four launch advertisers: HomeHero, Captiv8.io, Unreel.io and Coldcock Whiskey.

“Wrapify is a revolutionary way for everyday drivers to effortlessly earn a second income while performing their customary daily activities, while Wrapify’s end-to-end crowdsourced advertising platform allows businesses and advertisers to connect, collaborate and create revolutionary economic value,” writes the company.

To date, Wrapify has raised $1 million in funding from investors that include Ludlow Ventures, Social+Capital Partnership, Haystack and the LAUNCH Fund.
