Dealership Gives Out Free PowerBall Tickets
As the Powerball sits at $1.5 billion, many consumers look at the jackpot as a way out of regular life and into the lifestyles of the rich and famous. However, a dealer in Dell Rapids, Nebraska used the Powerball jackpot as an opportunity to attract more customers to their store. Between Jan. 8Â and 9, Dell’s Auto offered free Powerball tickets to anyone who visited their store with no purchase necessary.
James Paye, sales manager at Dells Auto told local news station KSFY, “We’re always trying to have fun – trying to make car sales a lot of fun.” Clearly, customers of the store could have walked away having a ton of fun had they hit the jackpot. While this dealership promotion comes at a time when the nation has Powerball fever, it’s not the first time dealers have been involved with a Powerball jackpot.
Back in 2012, Manhattan Infinity staff played the Powerball together and won $1 million, splitting it 22 ways. Each employee who played walked away with $30,081 after taxes. The staff used the money for anything from gifts to family members to paying for their wedding. The winners also made sure to keep their jobs, not seeing a $30k payday as a reason to retire.
What fun ways have you tried to drive traffic to your story? With the Powerball cranked up to a record level, are members of your staff playing the Lottery?
