Facebook Releases New Business Manager Tool To Streamline Workflow

May 6, 2014 0 Comments

Facebook has officially released its new Business Manager tool after testing the product with select companies over the past month.  Intended to streamline workflow for both large and small advertisers, the new tool provides businesses with a single dashboard where they can manage all of their accounts, pages, permissions and more.  Business Manager will roll out to everyone over the next few weeks.

The Business Manager tool is especially useful for small business owners who handle their own advertising and therefore require as streamlined of an approach as possible.  The dashboard shows all of the pages, ad accounts and apps that are linked to the user’s brand.  The interface also allows them to view which external partners have access to their pages as well as providing them with a tool to set both the external permissions and the permissions of their in-house employees.

For those working for an advertising agency, the dashboard will display all of the pages, ad accounts and apps that their client has set them to be able to access.  They will also see the other people on their team who have the same level of access.  The Business Manager tool will help all businesses by providing them with a focused and efficient tool.  Facebook explained this intention in their recent announcement by saying that, “Business Manager is built to help advertisers work better and faster.  With one click, admins can add new people to ad accounts and Pages, greatly reducing the time it takes to set up and manage marketing efforts.  For employees and external partners, Business Manager makes it easy to find the things they’re working on.”

Another helpful aspect of this new tool is removing the former need to “friend” someone in order to give them access to manage a page.  A page administrator can simply use someone’s email address to assign them permissions to manage a page or ad account.  Additionally, coworkers in Business Manager won’t see each other’s personal profile pictures or personal posts.

There are 10 different roles that you can assign to your team members within Business Manager depending on the level of access that they require.  The available roles range from a business admin who manages all aspects of the business settings, including adding and removing new users as well as modifying or deleting the account, to a page analyst who can view insights but cannot post on the page.

Small business owners will reap great benefits from the new Business Manager tool, allowing them to manage all of their pages and ad accounts seamlessly in one place, thereby providing them with a streamlined approach for their Facebook advertising initiatives.
