Google Now Showing Product Reviews Snippets In Knowledge Panels
Google has recently updated its search feature to provide users with snippets of products available for purchase, and it now filters more relevant information for a user, according to Android Headlines.
Now, reports indicate that blocks of review snippets that show “What people are saying” about a product are appearing frequently and account for a large area of the real estate in product knowledge panels, which Google calls “product card units.”
Although reviews have been a part of product cards for a long time, the pullout quotes that are related to specific product features or qualities are a new variation on how Google displays reviews data.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a method for finding the source of these reviews quotes. Google aggregates reviews across many sites and retailers, and it doesn’t provide a source for each snippet. However, by clicking on any of the “reviews” links in the panel, a user will be taken to the reviews page for the product in Google Shopping. Although it isn’t immediately clear that the retailer or other reviews source names are actually links, clicking on them will take the user to the product or reviews page on that respective website.
Overall, this marks another step by the search giant to develop a cohesive ecosystem to ultimately keep users within its analytics.
