Michigan Ford Dealer Gives New F-150 Pickups To Wounded Veterans

November 4, 2015 3 Comments

A Ford dealership in Michigan gave very special gifts to two veterans who were injured while serving in the Armed Forces. Romeo Ford in Romeo, Michigan recently gave away two new Ford F-150 pickup trucks to two veterans who suffered injuries while serving their country.

Derrick Harden and Cameron Corder are the veterans who received the new vehicles on October 23, courtesy of Romeo Ford. Harden served in the Army and was injured from a car bomb explosion during a tour of duty in Iraq. Corder, a medic was injured while treating a Marine in Afghanistan.

The dealership worked with Wounded Warriors Family Support to get the vehicles to the veterans, with the original idea coming from UAW at a nearby Ford plant. Allison Brewer, the GM of Romeo Ford spoke on the subject of the veteran gifts to C&G News saying, “Actually, the engine plant came to us, asked if we were willing to work with this, and we jumped to the opportunity. We donate to many causes around the community, but we’ve never been able to do something on this grand scale.”

Brewer reportedly worked with the veterans for a month and a half on the details of their new trucks. C&G News shed further insight on the Ford F-150s, which both veterans chose to be magnetic gray and were specified calibrated to the needs of the veterans and their families. One of the trucks has a crew cab for more passenger space, while another one had a left-foot accelerator to make life for that veteran a little easier. The dealership also donated $4000 to an organization that helps veterans.

What do you think of this store giving away two new Ford F-150s to help veterans? Dealers reach out and help members of their community in many ways, what do you do at your store?

Dave, we went back and corrected this error. Thank you for bringing it to our attention! Thank you for watching!

Nice, feel good story, but the dealership probably would have appreciated it if you got their name right. Heard of the classic “Romeo and Juliet?” That’s how you pronounce it.
