Transport Truck Robbed At Gunpoint In Front Of Dealership

A car jacking occurred outside of a Honda store while a transport driver was trying to unload vehicles to sell. Just next to Hendrick Honda in Daytona Beach, Florida, a 2012 Honda Civic was taken by force. According to local police, when the transport driver took the Civic off of the truck, a car pulled up along side of him and sandwiched between the two vehicles.

A passenger got out of the vehicle and pointed a handgun at the transport driver. The transport driver, who has not been named,  immediately complied with the car jacking for his own safety. He told WESH Orlando, “All I know is I put my hands up just took two steps back. As I’ve always said, I’m not going to lose my life over a car.” The suspect, only described as a young man, drove off in the Civic and his accomplice sped away in a white Kia Optima. The suspects are still at large and police are currently searching for both cars. The transport driver also told WESH this type of thing happens often and lamented the need for car haulers to have personal firearm protection.
