Twitter Launches New Lead Generation Cards

Twitter is blazing a new trail for marketers with the new Lead Generation Card feature. We’ve come to love the interactive nature of Twitter and it’s ability to help drive more traffic to our blogs and websites. Now the next generation of engagement is ready to bloom with the introduction of this new email marketing tool within the platform.

Eventually, Twitter users will be able to interact with brands beyond replies, re-tweets and direct messages, they will have the ability to provide their emails addresses directly to a brand within the lead generation card.

Lead marketing is very much alive and kicking and Twitter is helping raise the effectiveness of this permission based activity. The program is only available to Twitter’s current ad clients currently and is slated to open up to other businesses in the near future. Twitter also stated their clients in the beta program reported the lead cards help provide a new source of low-cost-per leads when compared to other traditional list/lead building channels.

Increased interaction and engagement has already been proven to help contribute to improved lead quality and quantity. I can see this becoming another effective element of a dealership’s list building efforts to help build it’s base of marketing qualified lead activity.

This is another excellent example of how important it is to accept, embrace and understand the changing communication channels available within the digital marketing ecosystem. Dealers who were resistant to twitter years ago are only going to be further behind the progressive dealers who adapt to the improvements Twitter provides to make their social media efforts even more effective.

The Twitter Lead Generation Card program will lower costs and speed up the time it takes for consumers to interact with brands. As users follow brands they like and trust, the ability to engage with them will only become easier.

This is a new school form of the lead landing page – now its simply embedded within a tweet. A Twitter spokesperson stated “The simplicity also makes lead generation more efficient.” The list/lead building process will also work seamlessly with your existing CRM solution as well.
