Mazda Dealer Reaches Out To Family After Tragedy

We like to spotlight dealers who are doing good in their communities, as was the case for a Missouri dealership who helped a the family of a 5-year-old boy who witnessed his mother get murdered in their family vehicle.

Bommarito Mazda in St. Louis, Missouri donated a new Mazda 3 to the family of Whitney Brown 24, who was shot and killed in her vehicle on Aug. 12. Her son, 5-year-old Jakeem was in the vehicle with his mother and witnessed the murder. He is now being cared for by his grandmother, Erica Jones. Jones showed the local news the vehicle that Brown was driving still in her driveway, full of bullet holes. Jones didn’t know where she’d get the money to fix the vehicle, which is when Bommarito Mazada came into the picture. They donated a new vehicle to Jones, which she says will provide an opportunity to get Jakeem back and forth to school each day. Jones told local news KMOV, “I wasn’t expecting any of this. People are really genuine and have good hearts.”

The dealership, Bommarito Mazda wasn’t quoted in the local media and attempts to reach out to the dealership for further comment weren’t immediately returned. However, on the KMOV Facebook page, the dealership received a lot of praise. Numerous individuals said that they would buy a vehicle from the Mazada dealer because of their kind action, while others simply acknowledged a truly generous gift.
